Welcome to the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow’s (IASG) website. Contained within these pages you will hopefully find a range of useful information pertaining to our Local Institute, most notably the range of activities that IASG carry out in support of our membership.
We are all proud of our status as the UK’s second oldest CII Local Institute and also one of its most vibrant, with a wide range of support offerings to our 2500 or so members.
I am honoured to have been elected as IASG President and thanks to my predecessors, I inherit this role with our Institute being in robust health, with a reputation as being an extremely proactive one and with a comprehensive range of activities aimed at supporting the professional development of our membership.
Key Aim:
My key aim for my presidential year is actually quite straightforward: that is to continue to support all of the good work that my council colleagues have done and continue to do in making IASG what it is today.
The Insurance Charities:
As an additional objective, I have set myself the task of trying to raise the profile of The Insurance Charities this year. I am not convinced that as a membership we fully understand the good works that our Charity does in support of our colleagues, who for one reason or another have fallen on very hard times and require our support. Hopefully, with the help of my colleagues on IASG Council, we will try and increase the Insurance Charities' profile.
